12 ways to become a better you.

This is a list of 12 ways to become a better you. Attempting to become a better you can help you identify and realise your potentials and help you grow as an individual.

Love yourself and make peace with yourself: Everything starts with your mindset. Your mindset can either ruin you or make you. Loving yourself means accepting who you really are, not who people think you are or who you pretend to be.

Making peace with yourself is like forgiving yourself regardless of your mistakes and the regretful… Click To Tweet

Love and help others: Hating on people is burdensome. Helping a neighbour, a friend or a family member do some work is worth it. You will realise the joy that comes with helping. Help people so others will help you when you are in need. If you think you can live alone like an island, you are making a mistake.

Do not hold grudges: Someone must have hurt you along the line to the extent you think forgiveness has no role to play. The truth is, forgiveness is awesome, it brings you inner joy and gets rid of the bitter thoughts in your mind. Ask yourself, what benefit does holding grudges have? My answer is clear, it has absolutely no benefit. There is this quote I believe in, “to err is human but to forgive is divine”-Uknown

Do what is right: Doing the right things at the right time always, takes a lot of willpower, courage and determination, but you will feel good after it because you have no guilt in you.

Read inspiring articles: This helps to grow your mind and feels your mind with a lot of positivity and motivation. I recommend the positivity blog, you will find great posts there.

Avoid the reoccurrence of mistakes: Making a mistake is natural and that is normal but the reoccurrence of the same mistake is unwise and it indicates carelessness. It will leave you hating yourself.

Avoid the wrong people: Sticking to people for so long might make you pick up their habits. These habits may be good or bad and if they are bad, it may turn your life into a complete drama. Time is precious, once wasted, it can never be recovered. Therefore, value your time and don’t waste it on people who will never add anything valuable to your life.

Never give up during your darkest moments: Life is like an adventure, you can not predict what you will meet or who you will meet. You will definitely meet the good, the bad or the ugly. When you meet the bad and the ugly, never let it destabilise you. Just hold on tight, it will not last long.

Avoid envy and jealousy: Do you ever feel sad because you don’t have what some other person has? or you feel like a friend does something better than you do?

You have to get rid of these feelings because it’s poisonous to your life. Learn to be happy with what you have while working for what you need.

Do one thing at a time: Sometimes, you may feel like you have so many things to do (washing, shopping, your homework, you have to study, house chores, read and reply emails, etc,). The best thing to do is to write them down according to their preferences, Stop trying to accomplish so many things at the same time, you will make yourself frustrated and stressed out. You may even become confused.

Do not allow your past and people control you: Have you ever been trapped in the thoughts of your past? If yes, then I have to say this to you. Your past is behind you, let go of it and move on. At some point, we have to let go of some things or else, those things may pull us down.

people are different and the way they see things differ. Never allow their judgements and sentiments affect the way you think.

Take a break to reflect: This is great, it helps you take note of every accomplishment and every failure. It helps you learn from your mistakes so you can avoid repeating them. Get a journal and write down your reflections. If you think you can reflect without writing, you will forget them in a short while.

Great tips! I especially love that you put “yourself” first, rather than waiting ’til the end to mention it. I think a lot of people consider themselves as an afterthought rather than realizing it starts with themselves. Awesome post!
